In order to proclaim what is false, one must know what is true. To claim that something is false without having an answer for what is true is pure destruction and nihilism, a game that evil plays against Truth. It is pride, and pride is a liar.
Lies do not die until they are purified by fire. This is why hell exists. Otherwise, lies sleep for a time until they are forgotten. When they awake, they appear brand new. Current Western culture - neo-pagan and Christian-hating - is praised as a progressive “new” age. There is nothing new about it. It’s the same old heresies, re-awakened. But now, there is no Irenaeus.
Since the Reformation, Western culture has been obsessed with modernizing the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church weakens only when it modernizes. If the Roman Catholic Church stridently embraces today what it embraced two thousand years ago, it throws off any confusion in seconds. Always in the Church's wings lies the "Nicene Creed". In the "Nicene Creed", the Church declares its authority by revealing the Holy Trinity. It is the Holy Trinity that reveals the True Nature of God.
But if its interpretations of the Word of God differ, in any way, between then and now . . . the Word of God is not Eternal. An explicit return to its roots would surely incur the wrath of a neo-pagan culture insistent on the Church’s compliance. But only under persecution will the Church then assume its proper role: as an Ark, carrying its passengers safely to Heaven, with the violent seas of the world crashing all around it.
